Service Model:

Cross-functional team experience

As institutions expand digital learning to meet evolving student needs, many struggle to ensure these experiences are not only scalable but also high-quality, equitable, and intentionally designed. This professional learning workshop series helps campuses move beyond ad hoc approaches toward coherent, learner-centered digital learning practices.

Grounded in research and informed by real-world institutional experience, this series supports faculty, instructional designers, and academic leaders in translating principles of inclusive teaching into actionable design and facilitation strategies across online, blended/hybrid, and digitally enhanced face-to-face environments. Participants engage in a guided exploration of evidence-based course design and assessment, approaches to student readiness and adaptive learning, and the fundamentals of continuous improvement. Through practical examples, structured reflection, and applied activities, participants build shared language and institutional capacity, enabling campuses to strengthen consistency, improve student outcomes, and advance sustainable digital learning ecosystems that prioritize both quality and equity.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop series, participants will be able to:

  • Define the fundamental characteristics of equitable and inclusive digital learning experiences across disciplines, contexts, and environments
  • Leverage evidence-based techniques, resources, and tools to build culturally responsive and culturally relevant digital learning experiences
  • Employ strategies for engagement, accessibility, cultural relevance, and representation within digital learning environments
  • Mobilize frameworks and evaluation tools for equity-driven assessment and facilitation of quality online course design and instruction, including the OLC’s Quality Scorecard Suite
  • Address challenges of endemic racial and socioeconomic inequities within digital learning environments present at the course and/or program levels
